National Social Protection Agency
The National Social Protection Agency (NSPA), formed under the National Social Health Insurance Act is mandated to administer the National Social Health Insurance Scheme and by an executive order under the same act mandated to conduct social protection programs identified by the government of Maldives. NSPA is also the responsible agency to regulate and conduct Social Protection programs under the Social Protections Act.

Foster Parent Allowance
The Foster Parent Allowance programme is a targeted conditional cash transfer programme implemented under the Social Protection Act (2/2014), providing financial support to vulnerable foster parents, so as to protect and improve the lives of foster children and provide them access to equal opportunities as other children in the society.
National Disability Registry & Disability Allowance
Disability allowance was introduced under the law (8/2010) “The disability act of Maldives” clause number 14 and clause number 33. The main purpose of the aid is to protect and provide disabled citizens the same rights and opportunities as any other citizen.
Single Parent Allowance
The Single Parent Allowance programme is a targeted conditional cash transfer implemented under the Social Protection Act (2/2014), providing financial assistance to vulnerable single parents caring for their children. It aims to protect and improve the lives of these children and ensure they have equal access to opportunities as other children in society. Through this service, eligible single parents in the Maldives receive a monthly allowance to support their children’s well-being and reduce financial hardship.
Food Assistance
This service provides financial assistance to low-income individuals and households in the Maldives to ensure access to essential and nutritious staple food items. It supports vulnerable families facing or at risk of food insecurity by easing their cost burden and promoting dietary stability. Under the programme, eligible households receive a monthly cash subsidy to purchase basic commodities such as rice, flour, and sugar.
Financial Assistance for Therapeutic Services
This service can be used to apply for financial aid through the NSPA for therapeutic services.
Financial assistance for therapeutic services for Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) aims to facilitate affordable and convenient access for PWDs requiring therapeutic services. Different types of physical and psychological therapeutic services required by PWDs are covered under this program.
Financial Assistance for IVF Treatment
This service can be used to apply for financial aid through NSPA for IVF services.
The Fertility Care Trust Fund established by NSPA aims to provide financial assistance for IVF
treatment services for married couples having difficulty conceiving naturally.
