No Objection to Special Visa for Foreign Interns

This service can be used to request for a No-Objection Letter from the Ministry to acquire a special visa for foreign individuals to work as interns in the Maldives. The application should be submitted 30 days before the arrival of the intern in the Maldives.

  • Engineer, Maintenance, Mechanical Engineer, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning, Civil Engineer, Electronics and Electrical Engineer.

  • Project Management

  • Environmental Management

  • Research

  • Environmental Management and Marine Research related Courses

  • Maximum internship duration for a foreign intern is 6 months.

  • For every foreign intern, two Maldivian interns should be trained. 

  • Internship duration for local students should be at a minimum equivalent to the training duration for the foreign intern OR an internship opportunity must be provided for local interns for the training duration as requested by the teaching facility the student is representing.

After you apply

  • After successful submission, a notification will be sent to your email and phone. 

  • You can check the status of the request from the “My Applications” tab. 

  • Once the application is processed, a no-objection letter will be issued to Maldives Immigration.

What is eFaas and how can I create an eFaas account?

eFaas is the most common account used by individuals for transactions with various e-Government services online. Any Maldivian with a valid National ID Card can use eFaas to login. To create an eFaas account, sign up at http://efaas.egov.mv/Account/Verify or alternatively, visit http://efaas.egov.mv/ and click to create an account.  Enter your ID card details. The serial number of your ID card can be found on the back of the card. If you have an existing account, you can sign in directly.
