This service provides the applicant with an approval to legally carry out the production of a specified construction material locally. When producing the specified materials locally, it is mandatory to confirm from the Ministry the quality and standard of the produced materials. This serves as an action of quality control and standardisation of these materials before they are used in construction works.

Note: For each type of material to be produced by the producer/manufacturer, a separate application form along with the required documents need to be submitted for approval.
To produce materials locally: must be registered under Certified Manufacturer category (CM), of the Contractor Regulation.

Product specification from the producer/manufacturer. The specification document should specify the materials’ compliance to the specified standards in the Regulation.
Test reports/ certifications of the product (should not be older than 02 years from the date of testing). Also these test reports should specify that the producing materials are tested as per the specified standards in the Regulation.
After successful submission, a notification will be sent to your email and phone.
You can check the status of the request from the “My Applications” tab.
Once the application is processed, the contractor registration certificate will be issued via email.
All duly completed applications will be processed within 5 business days.
How can I get a customs registration?
On the Maldives Customs Service website, you can obtain a customs registration by visiting the Importer's Customs Portal.
What are the actions that can be penalised?
Any violations as specified on the Construction Material Import and Production Control Regulation (R-1017/2019) will be penalised.
