Guide to Request Work Permit Fee

Description

This service can be used by employers to pay the work permit fee of their work permit holders in order to obtain and extend the validity of a work permit.

Eligibility

All issued and active work permits are eligible to pay the work permit fee; however, the following requirements should be fulfilled. 

Note:

For those work permit holders who are currently not in Maldives, a foreign medical may be accepted for up to one month, given that the foreign medical was issued within the last 45 days. However, they should obtain a valid work permit medical within 01 month from their arrival to the Maldives.

How to apply

  • You can apply using an Efaas account.

  • Logging into your own account will direct you to the oneGov homepage.

Documents required 

  • Work visa fee settlement declaration form (if the employer has pending visa fee)

    • Information given on the form and the employer details should match. 

    Note: Only required once (first fee payment)

After you apply

  • After successful submission a notification will be sent to your email and phone. 

  • You can check the status of the request from the history tab.

  • Should the status of your application be changed to “Incomplete”, you will receive a notification along with the remarks via email and phone.

  • Once the application is approved the status will change to “Pending Payment”.  You may now proceed to make the payment.

  • Once the application is approved and the related payments have been cleared, the status of the application will change to “Paid”.

  • Once paid, the work permit validity would be extended up to the lowest validity factor (Quota slot, Passport, Employment Contract, work permit insurance, medical and work permit fee).

Service fee

Work permit fee of MVR 350/- (Three Hundred and Fifty Rufiyaa) will be charged by the applicant per month.

Payment notification

  • Once the application is at ‘pending payment’ status, you will receive a notification to pay the service fee via email and SMS.

  • You will receive the BandeyriPay link via email for making the online payment.

  • Choose the agency and the service for which you want to make a payment.

  • Fill in the reference number and other details before proceeding with the payment.

  • You will receive an SMS notification after your payment is processed.

Estimated time frame

  • Applications for the work visa fee settlement declaration form (where verifications are required) will be processed within 01 business day.

  • Applications that do not require verifications  will be processed in real time.

  • If any additional verification is required for the submitted documents and other provided information, the application may take longer than the standard time frame to be processed.

Guide to Request Digital Card

Description

This service can be used to request a work permit digital card.

Before you start

Please ensure that the following service(s) are completed before proceeding with your application.

  • Request Work Permit Fee

Eligibility

  • The employee should have a valid work permit.

How to apply

  • You can apply using an Efaas account.

  • Logging into your own account will direct you to the oneGov homepage.

Documents required 

After you apply

  • Once the application is submitted it will be verified to see if the  photo submitted meets the requirements.

  • Once the application is approved the status will change to “Approved”. 

  • Should the status of your application be changed to “Incomplete”, you will receive a notification along with the remarks via email and phone.

  • If the photo meets the requirements, application will be verified and approved, and photo will be updated in the work permit page in Xpat system and the work permit digital card

  • Work permit digital card will be automatically issued upon completing the first work permit fee request of the work permit holder.

Estimated time frame

  • All duly completed applications will be processed within  01 business day.

  • If any additional verification is required, for the submitted documents and other provided information, the application may take longer than the standard time frame

Guide to Update Digital Card Photo

Description

This service can be used to change the photo of the existing work permit card.

Before you start

Please ensure that the following service(s) are completed before proceeding with your application.

  • Request Digital Card

Eligibility

  • The employee should have a valid work permit digital card and valid work permit.

How to apply

  • You can apply using an Efaas account.

  • Logging into your own account will direct you to the oneGov homepage.

Documents required 

After you apply

  • Once the application is submitted it will be verified to see if the  photo submitted meets the requirements.

  • Once the application is approved the status will change to “Approved”. 

  • Should the status of your application be changed to “Incomplete”, you will receive a notification along with the remarks via email and phone.

  • If the photo meets the requirements, application will be verified and approved, and photo will be updated in the work permit page in Xpat system and the work permit digital card

  • Work permit digital card will be automatically issued upon completing the first work permit fee request of the work permit holder.

Guide to Add Work Permit Holder's Passport

Description

This service can be used to update the new passport to the employee’s existing work permit.

Before you start

Please ensure that the following service(s) are completed before proceeding with your application.

  • New work permit request

Eligibility

  • The applicant should be the employer of the work permit holder.

  • The employee’s passport has been renewed.

How to apply

  • You can apply using an Efaas account.

  • Logging into your own account will direct you to the oneGov homepage.

Documents required 

  • Passport bio data page  

    • Should be a clear, colour scan with the Machine-Readable-Zone (MRZ) visible.

    • Should have a minimum validity of 12 months.

 

  • New passport page that contains the old passport number / old passport page 

    • A clear, colour scan of the page where old passport number is stated OR;

    • A clear, colour scan of the old passport OR;  

    • Document issued by the respective countries’ immigration mentioning the old passport numbers.

After you apply

  • Once the application is submitted, it will be reviewed to verify that all documents fulfil the requirements.   

  • Once the application is approved the status will change to “Approved”.

  • Should the status of your application be changed to “Incomplete”, you will receive a notification along with the remarks via email and phone.

  • Once the application is processed, the status of the application will change to “Processed”.

  • All duly completed applications will be processed within 3 business days.

  • If any additional verification is required, the application may take longer than the standard time frame.

Guide to Update Salary

Description

This service can be used to update the salary of the work permit holders in the Xpat system.

  • Work permit request 

Eligibility

  • The applicant should be a valid work permit holder.

How to apply

  • Logging into your own account will direct you to the oneGov homepage.

  • All duly completed applications will be processed in real time.

Guide to Update Medical Report

Description

This service can be used by employers to submit the medical report of the work permit holder.

Eligibility

  • Valid Work Permit Medical issued within the past 1 year

How to apply

  • You can apply using an Efaas account.

  • Logging into your own account will direct you to the oneGov homepage.

Documents required 

  • Work permit medical report

  • Foreign medical report (If the work permit holder medical is expired and is currently not in Maldives)

After you apply

  • After successful submission a notification will be sent to your email and phone. 

  • You can check the status of the request from the history tab.

  • Should the status of your application be changed to “Incomplete”, you will receive a notification along with the remarks via email and phone.

  • Once the application is approved, the work permit medical validity will be updated to the new expiry date based on the work permit medical report

Estimated time frame

  • All duly completed applications will be processed within 3 business days.

  • If any additional verification is required, the application may take longer than the standard time frame.

Guide to Update Accommodation Information

Description

This service can be used to update changes to the information of the accommodation of the work permit holders.
