This service can be used to obtain a new operating licence for dive facilities. Applications should be submitted at least one month prior to the commencement of operations.
Responsible Entity: Ministry of Tourism

The dive centre should be affiliated with a service provider such as RSTC/PADI/SSI.
The business entity should be registered at the Ministry of Economic Development (The registered business should have provision of diving services under its objectives.)
The business name should be registered at the Ministry of Economic Development.
The permit will be issued for dive centre on the following lands only:
Land leased by government for residential purpose
Land leased by the Ministry of Tourism for the purpose of tourism
Land allocated by the President for tourism purpose
Land allocated and leased for Tourism purpose in the Approved Land Use Plan by the Council

Business name registration certificate issued by Ministry of Economic Development
MIRA Tax Clearance Report of operator (date of issue should not be more than one month from the submission of application form)
Corporate profile sheet issued by the Ministry of Economic Development.
If Dive Center operation is not included under the objectives in the profile sheet, a letter of declaration by the Sole Proprietor/Managing Partner/Managing Director shall be submitted mentioning that the company conducts Dive Center Operation.
Signed agreement between the dive facility operator and the operator /lessee of the tourist facility allowing for the use of the premises as a dive centre or school.
Signed agreement between dive facility operator and the owner of the location allowing for the use of the premises as a dive centre or school.
Land Registration (not required for government leased lands)
No objection letter from the island council to the operator or owner, to operate a dive facility on the land or plot
Approved Land Use Plan of the island (If the dive facility is located in a land leased by council)
Note: The plot should be included as a dive centre in the approved Land Use Plan of the island. A letter of council should be submitted mentioning that the plot is included as a dive centre in the approved Land Use Plan of the island

Inspection is required for dive centre operating licence requests.
A request will be sent to notify the applicant of a convenient date for inspection.
After inspection if further requirements are to be fulfilled, it will be communicated to the operator.
If all the requirements are complete, the application will be sent for licensing.
All duly completed applications will be processed within 7 business days.
