Ownership change to private land

This service can be used for transferring state-owned land's ownership to a citizen.

Eligibility

  • Applicant must be the owner of the land 

How to apply

  • Logging into your own account will direct you to the oneGov homepage.

Documents required

  • Copy of land registration certificate

After you apply

  • After successful submission, a notification will be sent to your email and phone. 

  • You can check the status of the request from the “My Applications” tab.

  • Once the application is processed and the required payment has been cleared, the document will be issued via email.

  • For installment cases, the payment must be made  to the council before the 10th of every month for the agreed rental period.

Service fee

  • Price will be compared based on the size of the land (MVR 50 per square feet).

  • Payment can be settled in full or installments.

  • The maximum duration to settle payment in installments is 12 months.

Payment notification

  • Once your application has been approved, you will receive a notification via email and phone to make the payment for the service.

  • You can see the payment prompt under “My Applications”. Clicking this will redirect you to the BandeyriPay portal where you will be able to make the payment.

Estimated time frame

  • All duly completed applications will be processed within 5 business days.

What is eFaas and how can I create an eFaas account?

eFaas is the most common account used by individuals for transactions with various e-Government services online. Any Maldivian with a valid National ID Card can use eFaas to login. To create an eFaas account, sign up at http://efaas.egov.mv/Account/Verify or alternatively, visit http://efaas.egov.mv/ and click to create an account.  Enter your ID card details. The serial number of your ID card can be found on the back of the card. If you have an existing account, you can sign in directly. If you have forgotten the password to your account, you may click on forgot password and reset your account from the link: http://efaas.egov.mv/Account/ForgotPassword 

What is the longest duration within which I have to finish the payment of the land, if I choose to not make the payment in one go?

12 months is the longest duration within which you must finish making the payment of the land. The payment can be split as per your convenient amount per month, and divided between up to 12 months of payment.
