This service can be used to request for a permit to place billboards at specific locations in Fuvahmulah.

After successful submission, a notification will be sent to your email and phone.
You can check the status of the request from the “My Applications” tab.
Once the application is processed, the permit will be issued via email.
A monthly running rent will be applicable to the applicant and must be paid to the council before the 10th of every month for the agreed rental period.
All duly completed applications will be processed within 5 business days.
Under this act (act no. 2014/R-215), the below locations have been allocated for the placement of billboards;
Thundi area
Airport area
Harbor area
Official stadium area
Valifannu area
Cricket stadium area
Near the shop (?), Smart fuel, Jamaaluddin Magu, Funaadu ward
Maaneyre area
Areas surrounding the official football stadium
Rasgefannu area
Valifannuge road
As per the 6th point under this act, the areas mentioned above will be charged at the rate of MVR 3 per square feet per month.
All other areas not mentioned above will be charged at the rate of MVR 1 per square feet.
Furthermore, the council reserves the right to apply charges to advertisements showcasing sellable goods or money generating services as per the below;
If the proposed size is below 2x4 ft (cardboard), a charge of MVR 25 will be incurred.
If the proposed size is between 2x4 ft and 4x8 ft (cardboard), a charge of MVR 50 will be incurred.
If the proposed size is above 4x8 ft (cardboard), a charge of MVR 100 will be incurred.
If the proposed size is below 2x4 ft (banner), a charge of MVR 10 will be incurred.
If the proposed size is between 2x4 and 4x8 ft (banner), a charge of MVR 25 will be incurred.
If the proposed size is above 4x8 ft (banner), a charge of MVR 50 will be incurred.
Should the applicant act in disregard to the rules and regulations stipulated under this act (act no. 2014/R-215), the council has the authority to fine the applicant as per the below;
The applicant will be warned after the first offense. Should the same offense continue for a second time, the applicant will be charged an amount between MVR 500 - 1000 as a fine for the offense. The third offense will incur an amount between MVR 1000 - 3000. The fourth offense will incur an amount between MVR 3000 - 5000. Should the same offense occur after the fourth time, a charge of MVR 5000 will be incurred for each time the offense is then repeated.
