Land Use Plan Approval

This service can be used to apply for approval and change of Land Use Plans. An approved Land Use Plan is required before land allocation in the islands and Cities of the Maldives, according to the 8th Amendment of Decentralization Act (7/2010).

Guide To Apply

Before you start 

  • Ensure that all the steps in the Land Use Planning SOP are followed.

  • All the reference documents are compiled.

Eligibility 

  • City and local councils can apply for this service.

Reference documents 

How to Apply 

  • Log into your eFaas account.

  • Logging into your own account will direct you to the oneGov homepage.

Documents required 

  • Land Use Plan.

  • Land Use Plan Report.

  • A PDF and DWG format file of the Existing Island Plan.

  • A PDF and DWG format file of the Tree Survey Map.

  • A PDF and DWG format file of Potential Reclamation Area, if applicable.

  • An implementation plan for the next 5 years.

  • A letter that conveys that the person is authorized to apply on behalf of the council.

After you apply 

  • After successful submission, a notification will be sent to your email and phone. 

  • You can check the status of the request from the history tab.

  • Once the application is approved, the status will change to “Approved”.

  • Should the status of your application be changed to “Cancelled”, you will receive a notification along with the remarks via email and phone.

  • Once the application is processed, the Land Use Permit Approval Letter and Stamped Land Use Plan Drawing will be issued via email. 

Estimated time frame 

  • All duly completed applications will be processed within 10 working days.

  • A public consultation document.

  • Council authorization document.

After you apply 

  • After successful submission, a notification will be sent to your email and phone. 

  • You can check the status of the request from the history tab.

  • Once the application is approved, the status will change to “Approved”.

  • Should the status of your application be changed to “Cancelled”, you will receive a notification along with the remarks via email and phone.

  • Once the application is processed, the Land Use Permit Approval Letter and Stamped Land Use Plan Drawing will be issued via email.
