Guide for Requesting a New Permanent Quota Pool

Description

This service can be used by employers to obtain quota slots for foreign employment (permanent quota pool).

Eligibility

  • The applicant/employer should have a worksite(s) in ‘active’ status.

  • The applicant/employer should register in the Job Center portal. This is not required for government and judiciary entities.

  • All the permits, documents, licences, photos and other information relevant to the site(s) requesting a quota should be valid.

  • The applicant/employer should be a registered business entity (commercial category permanent quota pools).

  • The applicant/employer is only eligible for one permanent quota pool per quota pool division. However, in some quota pool divisions such as permanent quota pools for “short term accommodation activities in resort hotels” a separate quota pool is issued for each site. 

  • Eligible for standard quota slot and regularisation quota slots within the same quota pool.

How to apply

  • You can apply using an Efaas account.

  • Logging into your own account will direct you to the oneGov homepage.

Documents required 

  • Domestic drivers: vehicle related documents 

  • Attendants: a doctor’s certificate/ letter issued to the patient

  • Other occupations: no additional documents

After you apply

  • After successful submission a notification will be sent to your email and phone. 

  • You can check the status of the request from the history tab.

  • Once the application is approved the status will change to “Approved”.  

  • Should the status of your application be changed to “Incomplete”, you will receive a notification along with the remarks via email and phone.

  • Once the application is approved, you can proceed with “Quota Slot Utilization”.

Estimated time frame

  • All duly completed applications will be processed within 14 business days.

Guide for Utilizing a Quota Slot

Description

This service can be used by employers to manage and allocate the quota slots that are assigned to a specific permanent quota pool.

Eligibility

  • The applicant should have a quota pool in approved status. 

  • The applicant should have remaining eligible quota slots in the respective quota pool.  

  • At least one site linked to the quota pool should be in active status.

How to apply

  • You can apply using an Efaas account.

  • Logging into your own account will direct you to the oneGov homepage.

After you apply

  • After successful submission a notification will be sent to your email and phone. 

  • You can check the status of the request from the history tab.  

  • The application will be automatically processed in real time. Once approved the status will change to “pending payment”. 

  • For system slots no payments will be required and the quota slot will be issued automatically. 

  • Once the quota slot has been issued employers can apply to work permit services.

Service fee

  • Quota fee of MVR 2000 per quota slot will be charged.

Payment notification

  • Once the quota slot utilisation request is submitted the request will automatically go to pending payment.

  • When your application goes to pending payment, you will receive a notification to pay the quota slot fee via email and SMS to make the payment for the quota slot.

  • Employers can use 4 payment methods to pay quota slot fee: 

    • Quota fee single payment

      • If you want to pay the full quota slot fee for a single slot, then you can use quota fee single payment method and pay the MVR 2000 for the respective quota slot.

    • Quota fee collection payment 

      • If you want to pay the full Quota slot fee for more than one quota slot, then you may use the quota fee collection payment method and make a payment collection for the respective quota slots and pay MVR 2000 per slot. 

    • Quota fee schedule payment 

      • If you want to pay the quota fee for a single slot on instalments and distribute the MVR 2000 over 12 months, then you can use the quota fee schedule payment method. This method allows you to distribute the quota fee of a single quota slot over 12 months and pay the quota slot fee as instalment payments. To start instalment payment, you should pay at least one month quota slot payment. 

    • Quota fee schedule collection

      • If you want to pay the quota fee on instalment for more than one quota slot, then use the quota fee scheduled collection method. This method allows you to distribute the quota fee of a multiple quota slot over 12 months and pay the quota slot fee as instalment payments. To start instalment payment, you should pay at least one month quota slot payment for each quota slot. 

  • You will receive an SMS notification after your payment is processed.

  • This service will be automatically processed in real time.

Guide for Managing a Quota Pool Occupation

Description

This service can be used by employers to request a change in the designated occupations for the slots allocated to them within a permanent quota pool.

Eligibility

  • The applicant should have a quota pool in ‘active’ status. 

  • The quota pool should not have a ‘quota pool increase request’ in processing state.

After you apply

  • After successful submission a notification will be sent to your email and phone. 

  • You can check the status of the request from the history tab. 

  • Should the status of your application be changed to “Incomplete”, you will receive a notification along with the remarks via email and phone.

  • Once the application is approved, occupations assigned to the quota pool will be updated.

Estimated time frame

  • All duly completed applications will be processed within 7 business days.

Guide for Increasing a Quota Pool

Description

This service enables employers to request an increase in the maximum number of slots allocated to them for a permanent quota pool.

Eligibility

  • The applicant/employer should register in the Job Center portal. This is not required for government and judiciary entities.

  • The applicant/employer should have an approved quota pool.

  • The applicant/employer should have a worksite(s) in ‘active’ status

  • All the permits, documents, licences, photos and other information relevant to the site(s) requesting a quota should be valid.

  • For sites with old address site type, all the permits, licences, documents & photos linked with the quota pool should be valid.

How to apply

  • You can apply using an Efaas account.

  • Logging into your own account will direct you to the oneGov homepage.

Documents required 

  • Not applicable

After you apply

  • After successful submission a notification will be sent to your email and phone. 

  • You can check the status of the request from the history tab.  

  • Should the status of your application be changed to “Incomplete”, you will receive a notification along with the remarks via email and phone.

  • Once the application is approved, you can proceed with “Quota Slot Utilisation”.

Estimated time frame

  • All duly completed applications will be processed within 14 business days.

  • If any additional verification is required, the application may take longer than the standard time frame.

Guide for Decreasing a Quota Pool

Description

This service allows employers to cancel their current quota slots within a permanent quota pool.

Eligibility

  • Quota slot should be in ‘open’ state.

How to apply

  • You can apply using an Efaas account.

  • Logging into your own account will direct you to the oneGov homepage.

Documents required 

  • Not applicable

Note: if you want to provide additional information, you can submit supporting document(s).

After you apply

  • After successful submission a notification will be sent to your email and phone. 

  • You can check the status of the request from the history tab.  

  • Should the status of your application be changed to “Incomplete”, you will receive a notification along with the remarks via email and phone.

  • The application will be automatically processed in real time. and the status will change to “Approved”.  

  • Once approved, the selected quota slot/s will be closed, and the quota pool eligible amount will be decreased.

  • All duly completed applications will be processed in real time.

Guide for Changing a Quota Pool Slot

Description

This service allows employers to modify the allocation of permanent quota pool slots by transferring them from one pool to another, while also updating the designated occupation of the slot if necessary. Alternatively, employers can choose to modify the occupation of a quota slot within the same quota pool.

Eligibility

  • Quota slot should be in open state.

  • If changing to a different quota pool, the destination quota pool should have remaining eligible quota slots of the respective quota slot type (standard or regularisation).

  • If changing the occupation within the same quota pool, should have the remaining occupation amount within the pool.

  • If changing to a different quota pool, should have the remaining occupation amount within the destination quota pool.

  • Destination quota pool should not have a quota pool increase or manage occupation request in processing state.

After you apply

  • After successful submission a notification will be sent to your email and phone. 

  • You can check the status of the request from the history tab.  

  • The application will be automatically processed in real time, once approved the status will change to “Approved”. 

  • Once approved, the respective quota slot/s occupation and quota pool will be updated respectively.

  • All duly completed applications will be automatically processed in real time.
