Guide for Duty Exemption Request

Description

This service can be used to request for duty exemption under the Export-Import Act of Maldives (Act No. 31/79).

Eligibility

  • The applicant should be a registered business entity in the Ministry of Economic Development as per Business Registration Act (18/2014).

How to apply

  • You can apply using an Efaas account.

  • Logging into your own account will direct you to the oneGov homepage.

Documents required 

  • Clear copy of the packing list of the items.

  • Executed commercial invoice

  • If the applicant is requesting for exemption under specific clauses of an agreement executed between the applicant and the Government of Maldives, the applicant is required to upload the entire agreement. 

After you apply

  • After successful submission a notification will be sent to your email and phone.

  • You can check the status of the request from the “My Applications” tab.

  • Once the application is processed, your Duty Exemption letter will issued via email.

Estimated time frame

  • All duly completed applications will be processed within 5 business days.

Guide for 24-Hour Permit Application

Description

This service can be used by registered businesses to obtain a 24-Hour Permit for 24-hour operation of business outlets. 

Eligibility

  • The applicant should be a registered business entity in the Ministry of Economic Development as per Business Registration Act (18/2014).

  • An authorized person appointed to use the portal on behalf of the entity can submit the application. 

How to apply

  • You can apply using an Efaas account.

  • Logging into your own account will direct you to the oneGov homepage.

Documents required 

Permit for a café, restaurant or teashop:

  • Permit issued to the location by Health Protection Agency (HPA)

After you apply

  • After successful submission a notification will be sent to your email and phone.

  • You can check the status of the request from the “My Applications” tab.

  • Once the application is processed, your 24-hour permit will issued via email.

Service fee

  • MVR 2000

Payment notification

  • Once your application has been approved, you will receive a notification via email and phone to make the payment for the service.

  • You can see the payment prompt under “My Applications”. Clicking this will redirect you to the BandeyriPay portal where you will be able to make the payment.

Description

This service can be used by registered businesses to renew a 24-Hour Permit for 24-hour operation of business outlets. 

Eligibility

  • The applicant should be a registered business entity in the Ministry of Economic Development as per Business Registration Act (18/2014).

  • An authorized person appointed to use the portal on behalf of the entity can submit the application.

  • An authorized person appointed to use the portal on behalf of the entity can submit the application.

  • Once the application is processed, your existing 24-hour permit will be cancelled.

  • All duly completed applications will be processed within the same business day.

What if I want to use a different name for a business activity than my entity’s name?

You must register a business name under the respective entity first in this instance.

Can I have multiple business activities registered to one business name or one entity?

Yes you can have multiple business activities registered to one business name or entity.

Am I required to renew business activities?

Yes. You are required to update the status of your business activities on an annual basis.
